No, at Guard Home Warranty, we make getting coverage simple. There's no need for a home inspection or maintenance records when you purchase a plan. However, to ensure that your warranty is effective, all items must be properly installed and in good working conditions at the start of your coverage.
We believe that the age of your home systems and appliances should never be a barrier to protection. That's why we cover both new and old items, with no age restrictions. To help keep your plan affordable and to protect us against pre-existing conditions, we implement a 30-day waiting period.
Coverage begins 30 days from the date of enrollment and after the first payment is received, unless specified otherwise. For real estate transactions placed prior to closing, coverage starts on the settlement date, provided payment is received within 14 days.
When you purchase a home warranty from us, you can choose from flexible payment plans including monthly, quarterly (every three months), or annual options. Choosing our annual plan offers even more savings, equivalent to receiving one month free compared to the monthly rate.
To simplify your experience, we automatically charge the card on file for future payments, ensuring your coverage is continuous and hassle-free.
Yes, you can cancel your home warranty plan within the first 30 days of the order to receive a refund of the paid contract fee, minus any service costs we have incurred, unless otherwise specified in your contract. If you cancel after the initial 30 days, you are entitled to a pro-rata refund of the paid contract fee for the remaining unexpired term, again subtracting any service costs incurred by us, unless your contract states otherwise.

- Contact a licensed service contractor of your choice to diagnose the issue.
- Once the licensed service contractor arrives and diagnoses the issue, they must call us at 800-600-5129 before performing any repairs. This allows us to determine if the recommended repair or replacement is covered under the service contract agreement.
